Through the Paxos Crypto Brokerage, the firm acts as a custodian for its clients, such as Revolut, and manages the regulatory compliance aspects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s exciting about it is really lowering the barrier of entry for firms to get into crypto,\u201d said Paxos CEO Chad Cascarilla. \u201cYou can plug into our APIs and we\u2019ll provide you the regulatory ability and the technological capabilities to offer crypto for buying or selling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Read more:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/crypto-friendly-bank-revolut-launches-in-the-us\"><strong><em>Crypto-Friendly Bank Revolut Launches in the US<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In every U.S. state except Tennessee, Revolut allows customers to round up their transactions, converting spare change into crypto. Revolut also gives customers the ability to convert BTC and ETH among 28 global currencies, with plans to branch out into other cryptos in the future.<\/p>\n<p>In Europe, Revolut supports\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/price\/litecoin\" data-reactroot=\"\">litecoin\u00a0<\/a>(LTC),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/price\/bitcoin-cash\" data-reactroot=\"\">bitcoin cash\u00a0<\/a>(BCH) and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/price\/xrp\" data-reactroot=\"\">XRP<\/a>. The company charges 2.5% for every crypto transaction that standard customers make and 1.5% for premium costumers. With around a million customers in Europe transacting in crypto, Revolut crypto arm is a \u201cprofit center\u201d for the bank, Cooper said.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s next targets are in the Asia-Pacific region: Australia, Singapore and Japan, he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll launch the core product first and then see what steps we need to make to launch the crypto product,\u201d Cooper said. \u201cWe\u2019ll probably be fastest to market in the Australian market, so I\u2019d imagine Crypto Australia is next.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Read more:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/australia-post-now-lets-customers-buy-bitcoin-at-over-3500-outlets\"><strong><em>Australia Post Now Lets Customers Pay for Bitcoin at Over 3,500 Outlets<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Unrelated to its expansion into the U.S., the bank\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/revolut-crypto-bank-legal-ownership-fintech-card-payments\" data-reactroot=\"\">recently changed ownership rules<\/a>\u00a0for crypto, making users the legal owners of their own coins.
